All our dreams can come true. If we have the courage to pursue them. – WALT DISNEY
There are all kinds of dreams and all sorts of dreamers. If we were to bucket the dreams, most of us would fit into one of these categories:
Historic dreamer
Tiny dreamer
Done it all dreamer
Eternal dreamer
Do it all dreamer
Let’s deep dive into what they dream of.
Historic dreamer – Dreams of his glorious past achievements. Uses college days, previous job etc. as examples to portray how accomplished they are. A typical ‘Vo Zamane Ki Kya Baat Thi’ kinds.
Tiny dreamer – Limits his dreams to achievable ones. Doesn’t dare to go big or have bolder dreams. These entrepreneurs are usually the happy and satisfied types who want to dream but with caution. A ‘Jitni Chaddar Utne Pair Failana’ kinds.
Done it all dreamer – This one has once been a dreamer. Someone who would say, ‘I wanted to be an entrepreneur so I quit my job and I did and now I don’t want to do anything different’. This dreamer has not dreamt of any other big dream after that one. Life’s hunky-dory and probably routine.
Eternal dreamer – We all know someone who has many dreams but no plans. Continuous affirmations of starting exercise to lose weight without any action plan is a type of such an eternal dreamer.
Do it all dreamer – We all want to be here. Dream, achieve, repeat. This type is a big and bold dreamer and usually the sharks in the entrepreneurship community fit here.
In the world of entrepreneurship, which is full of dreams and aspirations your success depends on the kind of dreams you have. We all dream of the past sometimes when times are tough. We take measured risks too. But is that becoming your characteristic? Is it limiting your dreams? But the good news is, that you can choose your dreams.
